Terminal Servers

NetMan makes it easy to publish applications in your network. It expands Microsoft Terminal Server 2003/2008 to a full application server that you can use to publish individual applications as well as complete desktops.

You can connect a variety of user terminals in your NetMan network - thin clients and fat clients, Windows 98 through Windows Vista, and even Linux and MAC OS X clients: NetMan gives you complete flexibility.

The NetMan solution grows with your company and your requirements: you can expand it at any time to accommodate additional clients by simply adding more terminal servers. And because high availability is paramount - especially for your mission-critical applications - NetMan's integrated dynamic load balancing features ensure continued operation in the event of a server failure.

Citrix XENApp (Citrix Presentation Server, MetaFrame Server)

NetMan can integrate terminal server and XENApp environments effectively in a single interface. You get all the advantages of both protocols and can fully adapt them to your own requirements.

With NetMan, you can make the most of the ICA protocol's superiority in the area of bandwidth, and utilize the economical features of the RDP protocol in the LAN and broadband WAN. NetMan delivers the best of both worlds, giving you an elegant and economical solution capable of implementing both ICA and RDP to publish applications.

LAN

NetMan not only supports server-based computing and presentation virtualization environments, but can also be used for application management in the LAN. In addition to presentation of applications in the Windows Start menu and in any established browser, NetMan provides powerful features such as application monitoring with license management, as well as Internet control. All of the main functions are available both on terminal servers and in the LAN.

Clients

Windows client - NetMan is a long-established pro at intuitive integration for serving applications to classic Windows clients (Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista). Applications can be presented in the Start menu or on the desktop, regardless of whether they are installed locally or execute on a terminal server or XENApp server. NetMan implements powerful features such as seamless windows, session sharing, single sign-on and a universal printer driver to integrate applications running on a terminal server so that the user perceives them as local applications.

Thin clients - A number of integration methods are available for use with thin clients. For example, you can use RDP or ICA with a terminal server that has a NetMan installation to open desktop sessions with full NetMan functionality. On thin clients with embedded XP, you can install and operate NetMan Desktop Client. A thin client with integrated browser and Java Runtime Environment, on the other hand, can use the RDP Java client to access the NetMan Web Interface and execute Windows applications seamlessly on the thin client's desktop.

Mac OS X - Macintosh computers with Mac OS X can access all published applications using the Web Interface from NetMan. The required Java Runtime Environment (1.5/1.6) is included with Mac OS X, so no additional software installation is required. All functions are available right from the start, from seamless windows to local file access to the universal printer driver. Windows-based CD-ROM applications integrate seamlessly in the Macintosh desktop.

Linux and other Unix-type operating systems - Operation of NetMan on Unix-type systems requires a browser, a Java Runtime Environment and a PDF viewer. Applications are presented to the user in a web browser and executed in applets. Documents can be viewed as PDF files using the local PDF viewer and printed using the universal printer.
